I received the plants I ordered from gessiegail this afternoon and got them with their little wick drinkers soaking in my kitchen garden window. They are all just lovely and were packaged so carefully it must have taken Gail hours. I think I did one no-no, one of them had it's soil all over the leaves and I rinsed them off without even thinking. Then... I remembered they don't like their leaves wet. I patted each leaf dry with paper towels and apologized abjectly! I hope it's not too disappointed in me. I will do my best by them Gail. I did warn you my track record for house plants is pretty pitiful.

Hi Katy: Welcome to you and your new babies! Looks like you have the perfect spot for them in front of that nice big window! Keep us posted on how they do for you!
I used to think the same thing about water on the leaves of Gesneriads until I joined DG a year ago and found that some folks actually give their plants baths! I've heard as long as there's good air circulation and no draft from air conditioners etc, so they can dry out that it is fine.
Hi Katy, I love your set up! The rooting jars are just too cute :-)
As long as the leaves were dry before you put them in the window they should be fine, it's when they are wet and the sun shines on them that can spot up the leaves. Good luck with all your babies!
