Here is a very brief show of the Wildscape
The American Beauty Berries were beautiful.
Our Tour of the Wildscape and Fielder Garden
What a bright and windy day it was.. See us there squinting for the picture, lol!
We had a great time. Anna and Canta were a lot of fun to go with.
Sheila thanks so much for the Cannas! I finally got them tucked in bed I had to build first. They will be great against th back fence.
Great colors here at in Josephine's back yard, an assortment of Turks Cap, Tropical MW, and tall Ruella..

Here is the Dogface Sulphur we saw at Josephine's. You can see the profile dog's face with the back light. Good idea Sheila!
You can have any of the pics Josephine.. You were busy holding the butterfly and couldn't take one for yourself. Sheila was the only one who could focus her camera when it's wings were open before it flew off, lol.
That's it for me, now we will wait to see what Sheila has.. :-S

What a glorious celebration of fall blooms and butterflies! Sounds like you guys had fun, wish I'd been there. I usually put pics of butterflies and blooms in the Hummingbirds and Butterflies forum. But mind if I tack on a couple of fall butterflies for those in Texas? This sulfur butterfly found my Lion's Ear, which came up this year from scattered seeds and some got up to 7 foot tall, so they had trouble remaining vertical and the winds bent them over.
Sure Linda, please post away, the people on the Texas forum like butterflies too.
Very pretty one you have there.
Josephine.
Gorgeous Zebra Longwing, we have had some around here this year too, but I haven't been able to get a shot of them, not still long enough.
I always love the photos of wildlife , birds , butterflies and pets. My kids do too, DG is one of the very few places on-line I can let my children view photos on their own. I'm so grateful for that!
I have a question about the beautyberry you might be able to answer. I have the American White and a Japanese Purple. I planted them for the birds, but the birds never eat my berries, they just rot and fall off. Do I have the wrong plants or not the right birds for my area?
There might other foods around that the birds would rather have, they did eat mine, but I think at the wildscape they eat other things before they get to
the beautyberry.
Looks like the perfect day - hope you had fun. Mitch
Thank you Mitch, it was very nice, wish you could have come too, but you have already seen both places.

My friend and I had a wonderful day out in the Wildscape. It is especially fun to be out with others who can ID the plants and butterflies.I'll make sure I make enough time to see the Fielder house next time.
We will have to do it again next spring (around May), and invite everyone..whose been or not.
Thats when the butterflies really descend on the good gardens. People could even plan to make it from farther away places. It should be even more amazing by then. I would like to see what the yellow daisies I got from last year's swap do there, in comparison to all the other good nectar plants.
I would love that!

Great Picture Deb! Is that the Huisache Daisy?
Well Josephine, it is what I believe is the H daisy... If someone else can grow it that can confirm I could know for sure. I hope the seedlings you have can allow you to see and tell me. It is such a tremendous butterfly magnet. Such a phenomenal flower. I really would like to test it in other places.. As for my yard it wears the crown.

Well I hope the seedlings do well for me too, I will do my best.
Josephine.
