I was given a Hibiscus tree from my neighbour in the fall of last year. It was blooming twice a year at the time. It was so root bound that there was very little dirt left in the pot. I repotted it to a bigger pot and put it outside in the spring. We had a late cold spell and most it the leaves fell off. I brought it back inside until it was warm enough to stay outside all the time, then put it in the backyard. I trimmed it right back to get all the dead braches off and it is now coming back nicely. What is the next step to get it to bloom? I don't have a picture of it as my digital camera died on my not long ago.
Thank you,
Dwight
Getting my hibiscus to bloom
Assuming you've been giving it the right amount of light, water, and fertilizer, then the next step is to be patient! Sounds like this poor plant has been through quite a lot this year and it's recovering now, but it may take it a little time before it feels like blooming again.
It has been through a lot but it is starting to fill out nicely again. Thank you for you reply.

I agree with E3 - just wait - it'll happen once it's getting enough light, warm temps - it'll eventually bloom - it may be a while as it blooms off of new shoots.
