'Apple Green'

Long Beach, CA

I have a hoya that I got in 05 from the now gone 'House of Cactus' that is taking over my one window. When I looked at the tag, it says:
>>H. Borneo (eroistemma) 'Apple Green' Ed Gilding, Now Obtusifolioides.

Long Beach, CA

forgot to finish that by asking....how would I correctly label that hoya?
Thanks

Marcy...Ed has not published that Eriostemma yet...so the correct name is still H. sp. 'Apple Green'. The flower is a pale shade of green...quite lovely.

Oh, I bet that one is a Beauty! Would love to see the flowers on that one but I hope you can post a photo whether it's blooming now or not.

OK...I had to get it out of the window to get a good pic, so I set it outside on the swing. It is in a 6 in. pot with bamboo trellis..but is reaching out for more. I had to untwine that long vine from the curtain rod.

Wow! That is a great looking Hoya! I love those large leaves! I only have a few Hoya's, all small and all of the small leaf variety. Might just have to look for one with big leaves! I saw a photo somewhere on here (maybe PF) of a really pretty one with large leaves and nice veining in the leaves! It was really nice too.

It was probably latifolia or one of the pottsii. There are some beautiful large leafed hoyas. There was a thread awhile back about the large leafed ones. This Apple Green reminds me of meliflua ssp fraturna. It has even LONGER dark green banana shaped leaves & grows like a weed.

Very nice, indeed!

Is that a mutant leaf in the upper right?

Has it bloomed yet for you?

Nan...No...some of the leaves are just smaller than others.

Besides...I have now been told that this is probably not what the tag said. I guess H. Apple Green is supposed to have fuzzy leaves like the other eriostemmas, so it is probably meliflua or something else that has those glabouous shinny leaves.
I got that plant from a place that sold mostly cactus & succulents, and she said it had been gifted to her... so the likelihood of the name being wrong is...well...great. So...I guess I will just have to wait for a bloom to know what it is afterall.
