bought Ipod 4th generation no manual, need help

I bought this ipod off ebay for my daughter,

We've got no manual to help us which is a bad thing. we've downloaded the program from this web site to begin to down load tunes.http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/


Plugged the ipod into the computer and it won't come on.

I know that probably sounds stupid, but without the manual it's hard for me to know what to do next.

I'm headed today to download the manual for the ipod to see if It will help us LOL

the auction said it was in working condition. so I suppose the battery is still good on it.
but he also refuses to answer any of my 3 emails I've sent to him.
