That 2nd one looks like daylily foliage maybe...

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Yep Daylily - looks like the Kwanzo by the running growth pattern.

Cute dog!!! :)

Are the tips pointed? Can't see it that closely. I have what my mother called Dutch Iris that I inherited from her. Right now that bed looks just like yours. The daylily will have a definite fan at base about 2-3 inches above ground. The Iris will have a small corm like the regular Iris.

Phyl, bring a leaf or two or maybe one little plant and there are lots of people that can help.
I am strictly a novice as I have told you. Shouldn't even put my two cents worth in because it's probably wrong. When I re-read that it sounds sarcastic....not meant to be at all. Wish there were voice inflections signs.

1st Blackeyed susan..
2. Daylily - I would bet Kwanso...
3rd no idea.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Mibus ~ is that third one a prostrate plant. Or is it laying like that as you dug it up?

The reason I am asking is the growth habit and leaves favors a local plant that is not always welcome.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Thanks Mitch

Pod the 3rd one is growing just like it shows in the picture I didn't dig it up at all ...yet..so far it is the only one I see like that

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Did you notice any blooms in late summer or early fall?

Although the stems on your plant are thicker and the leaves fuller, the growth habit and the leaves favor this plant. Desmodium ~ known as beggars lice or stick tights... but probably not...

no sadly to say I don't recall anything. things were so busy with getting the house in order to put things away from the painting and working I never noticed ..but I do know I did clean that area out at one time removing alot of bamboo shoots since they were there and I don't' want bamboo there and that was not there at the time.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, if it bloomed it would have seed and I didn't see any in your photo. So I guess I am wrong once more. lol

It will be great fun to see what all you discover next spring... pod

as long as it isn't' more PI it will be fun for sure

Congrats on your new garden buddy, what a sweet and faithful looking friend!

hehehe ya like her got her form the rescue in Tyler her family moved and she couldn't go ..already house trained too so that was a plus for bringin her home hubby couldn't' complain she wasn't. matter of fact he has taken a like in to her even if he says he hasn't. she has already learned her boundaries pretty much stays in the yard and comes runnin if she goes on the easement road ( the driveway that goes to the neighbors behind us.)
