ID please

Can anyone tell me what this huge caterpillar will turn into? It's about 4 inches long. I think it may be a huge moth that I see on my moonflowers at night. Thanks, Annette.

Astr, it could be a Pink-spotted Hawk moth cat, they feed on plants in the Convolvulaceae family, like the Moonflower. There is a green and brown form:

Tersa Sphinx moth. See adult picture attached. Pretty in flight, as hind wing is very colorful. One of the Hummingbird Moths. Several plants depend upon these moths for pollination. The Nessus is another colorful one seen often in the Houston area.

My very first experience as raising cats. I'm tickled pink the above cat. was successful molted into one just like the pic. above. Temp. is dropping here, so they probably migrated South. Before they left us, they must have pollinated a dozen or more on one of my brugs. My first brugs' seedpods for me as well. I'm delighted that I discovered this very beautiful moth.
