I brought my small MM onto the porch last week when we had frost warning, she dropped a few leaves, but otherwise didn't skip a beat. She will be living in our bay window this winter, all those seed pods need to mature. Oh, the foil is to keep kitten from getting into the soil, it has worked so far.
MM this morning
wow that is beautiful I am a newbie to Brugs but I am in love they are the most fasinating plant. What are you going to do with your seeds? Do you think you might have some for sase?
Most will go to seed banks. I never promise seeds till they are harvested. Some will also go on ebay, need to help support the buggers. They eat a lot. I have many many more seed pods, I am sure there will at some point be some to share.
These pods could still be months from ready to pick.
wow I did not know it took so long for the seed pods to be ready to harvest. I am a newbie and haven't had any seed pods to deal with yet
Wow, she is sure a fertile Myrtle! She looks great, Brenda.
Nice to have her right there in the window.
I think MM is one I need to get.
Who did you cross her with?
At Christmas time, just string some lights on her. She already has the "ornaments." LOL!
Brenda, I would just bet you crossed her with some really good stuff!
What a great picture of those seed pods!
Brenda, I'm so glad you are well and able to play with the brugs. Your seed pods are looking good. I've always liked MM, but didn't cross mine with anything this year. It was so hot, I doubt they would have taken anyway. I hope you have some seed in there that will produce some beautiful babies and I know the seed banks will appreciate the gifting of seeds very much.
Wow, Brenda, you sure hit the jackpot on seed pods. This is one of my favorite brugs, deep color, big blooms.

I have pods with Golden Lady, Day Dreams, and Adeline. Yes, she eats pollen right up. I seemed to have wonderful luck setting pods this year. Even my 10 year old granddaughter has several big pods on her Temple goddess and Whiskers plants. My Dh got into it and I think he has 9 pods with his initials on the tags. Guess it is a family thing.
There will be some happy seed bankers and recipients.
Jackie, check back with me, I can't take cuttings right now with the pods, but will happy to share with you at a later date.
Very nice Brenda, Big fat pods. I can't wait for my 2yo Grandson to get in on the DL dobbing with me.

Its lovely great picture and color.
Thanks very much Brenda. Very good choices to cross her with. I sure hope you get something special!
I'm glad that your granddaughter loves brugs too.
I really dig it when I get the younger ones interested in brugs. My sons act sometimes like they don't care, but last night, Max (10) had pollinating fever. He wanted to hold the paintbrush, and didn't want to give it back, lol!
When the Buffalo in Bloom committee came to judge my garden this past summer, he was also on the porch discussing brugmansia with the ladies for almost ten minutes before he called me outside. Stuff like that is precious. Means more to me than any flush. :)
Too Cool Brenda! Wow.. I missed this thread.. I love how you get everyone involved.. that is just fantastic.
My maintenance man noticed a seedling blooming.. and I thought that was a big deal.. but the whole family pollinating? Absolutely awesome!
Wow, the number of pods on your small plant is so impressive. MM is one terrific parent.

The bees did our work for us on MM this year and the only other Brugs in bloom at that time was Daydream and Miss Emily MacKenzie. I figure we can't loose either way. When I tried to pollinate, no takers and now there are pods everywhere. Temps were in the low 40s last night so it looks like we may be in for an early Winter. brrrrrrrrrr.
