Last Blooms
Two beautiful brugs. Great pictures. I'll bet they are really smelling up the yard.
Both are dreamy! I love that whiskers, though...Yellow is my favorite, and it's so soft looking:-)
Bev
Great photo's! Butterfly is on the top of my wish list for next year, so you know I was drooling over your photo.
Alice
Ow! Don't do that to me;-) Whiskers is soooo beautimous!
Bev
That's a great picture of Isabella. She sure is a good bloomer. You take good pictures. Thanks for sharing with us.
You are so welcome.... Actually I am not a great photographer, but I really love my camera. IT takes good pictures... LOL And the brugs are hard to make look ugly!!! I just love to share my blooms... actually I have nothing to do with the blooms either! It rained so much this year we hardly had to even water. And I had liquid plant food so I couldn't feed them for a long time either. They were already too wet! So I would have to just give all the credit to the camera and the brugs themselves...
Aw shucks, they are soooo nice, you should be proud of yourself. I remember in the Spring, you were dying to get some blooms. :)
You got 'em, and they are wonderful!
Congrats!
I remeber too, and I remember last fall when the only buds I had ever had froze before they opened. I thought I would never see a bloom! I have seen plenty of them this year, but a few of mine have never bloomed yet. And some have only bloomed once or twice. But them there is always Isabella. She blooms almost constantly! Dr Suess has bloomed a lot too!
I'm really happy for you, YQ.
I think that the challenge is what makes them great (besides the look and the scent.) Then when the first elusive bloom opens...ahhhhhhhhh. It starts all over again.
Just wait until next year! LOL!
I still remember my first bloom on EP, I just couldn't keep my eyes from it. I invited everyone I knew to come see it. I told my husband all I wanted was one pink brugmansia. Well over 100 later I am still looking.
Jackie, how is the weather there, it was in the 80's here today. It is sill very warm. I was just out in shorts and bare feet getting pollen from plants. They are calling for freezing temps by Sunday. Well everything without buds or blooms has been moved in. The ones that where in the ground are now in pots. I have about 100 blooms and buds right now so we will wait till the last minutes for the last 15 or so. 65 seedlings will be going into their winter room under LED lights tomorrow. I just so hope we get to see the buds open on the ones we have not yet seen and the 3 or 4 budded seedlings.
Beautiful pictures and beautiful Brugs! Butterfly and Whiskers are two of my favorites. They both smell so nice.
Hi Brenda! Well, yesterday we were pretty much like you guys...we hit the 80's (I think it was a record.) My son and I were on the porch putting pollen from Golden Queen onto Rosabelle at 10 o'clock at night, and it was still 70 something degrees. A far cry from last year at this time when we had that freak snow storm, and no power for a week, lol!
Today is the beginning of the end. Rainy, dark and the high will only be 58 or so.
We are expecting a freeze Sunday night too.
Boy, you have your work cut out for you. I think all of us who have to winter them over deserve a pat on the back (or maybe a slap to the head for being so crazy, lol!)
But then, when you see pics like YQ's, or smell your first bloom for the new season, the work becomes worth it.
Oh last ones, how sad. I still have a month left, I think. You sure got a nice end show.
