Need suggestions for lowering soli PN in container plants

Gotha, FL(Zone 9a)

I am attempting to lower the soil PH in several of my patio container plants. I have a few readings as high as 8.5. I would rather not repot at this time using a higher peat or organic matter to lower the PH. I usually use sulfur in the garden area yet it can take several months for the soil-biology to take effect. I don't like using Aluminum Sulfate either as it can build up in the soil and cause more problems than it can help. I have about seventy tropicals, many of which are in large containers (10-15 gallon) so collecting rain water is not really an option. I was thinking of diluting vinegar in water or try Miracid but the 'Dynamite' brand fertilizer works well for me. Any thoughts? Thanks.

How are you testing? What is the pH and TDS (total dissolved solids) of your irrigation water? Do you have city water & can you get an analysis from your provider? It will usually be a 'range', as it varies by season. Are you using either gypsum or dolomitic lime as a Ca source in your soils? Do you make your soils?
