Did I ruin my bulbs?

Springfield, MO(Zone 6b)

This is the first time I've ever owned a bulb and wondering if I goofed up! I bought some tulips, daffodils, hyacinth and something else (I forgot :)) about a month ago. Anyway, I was told to put them in the refrigerator for several weeks before planting them. So, they have been in my refrigerator for about a month and I'm planning on planting them sometime this week. However, I stored them in a sealed tupperware dish. Did I ruin them by storing them in a sealed container in the refrigerator instead of a paper bag? (I'm thinking they might have been deprived of air so perhaps are ruined). I called the nursery back to ask, but they don't know, and they told me to just plant them and see what happens. But I would rather throw these bulbs away and buy new ones if they're ruined, instead of experimenting and being disappointed next spring when nothing happens. I've also looked online for an answer but no luck...so I'm counting on your expertise :)

Also, any other tips you feel like giving would be welcomed. I have a total of 8 bulbs (I have no idea which ones are which type, but I'm sure I could find out if I needed to) and I'm planning on just sticking them in some soil in a couple medium-sized pots. (I live in an apartment so all my plants are in containers on my balcony). Will that work? Thanks for your help! Ellianor

I dont think they are ruined. Open them up and look. If they are all mushy and rotten, then they are ruined. If still nice and firm pot them up and enjoy some winter blooms!

Oh, that's good to know! I'll look as soon as I get home from work today and I'm crossing my fingers they are nice and firm :)

If they are firm, plant them, in this zone you don't have to put them in the refrigerator, just plant them in the fall and fertilize and enjoy the blooms come spring.
