Corn Pest

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

I just discovered today that my small fall corn crop is infested with a small black worm that is eating and leaving waste products in its path down into the main stalk of the plant.

The corn stalks are not dead yet, most over 2 feet tall. What can I do about these pests, non chemically and can the corn be saved?

Last fall I had a nice little crop of corn without any kind of infestation. I had really hoped this year would be even more productive.

I am not sure, but this time of year I would suspect army worms, But stalk borers are a possibilty. I do not know any effective non-chemical controls. http://www.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef302.asp

Thanks Farmerdill, guess I better get a picture of the pest, a close up.

Got that pic and it looks like cutworms. Need to do some more research.
