We won't even be close to a freeze. End of next week is supposed to be in the high 50's. You know diehard this isn't the tropics, LOL. I do think a low in the high 50's is considered cold in most of the world. We don't even have a chance at a freeze untill the ocean temp drops into the 50's. Just won't happen until the ocean temp drops.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

If I recall, our first frost down here in the "Lowcountry" usually shows up around Thanksgiving - if then.
I can certainly wait! :)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Well, it is about 5:30 a.m., the temp is 71 and the humidity is 84%. What's frost??????

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

Its warm here in Raleigh also.
I just about have all my flowers in but hate to put them down stairs in 50 degree weather.

We're in the 70s/50s here for the next few days, so I don't see a frost here for a while yet, either.

But to respond to the "50s is cold" comment, I don't consider that cold. I was out in my yard last night for a while in my tank top, in 53 degrees, and loved it. I think 50s might be cold to heat lovers, but not to this cold lover. ;)

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

Its not cold to me till it hits the 40s.
Love 55 - 65 degree weather.

At least it looks like we have a little rain coming our way this week!! Hooray!!

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

well now they have changed it to 48 instead of 41 lol oh well that is ok

Wharton, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm not sure but I think it might have it gotten to 32 or lower last night. My myer lemon leaves are drooping at the tips. I brought it inside. Hopefully it didn't do too much damage.

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

Wharton, TX(Zone 9a)

Anderson, SC(Zone 7b)

We got ours last night - pretty thick one, too. But it's not supposed to be that cold the rest of the week.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

How did we get frost and y'all didn't? everything looked so good until last night, right when my gingers were starting to bloom

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

were forcasted to get in the upper 40's friday and saturday night.... the first 40's here this year as far as i know... bundle up, Lowcountry!

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

WEll will it ever frost in Raleigh?
Its as elusive as a Swirly Snow cross stitch pattern I have looked for for 2 years.

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

well it frosted hard last night did anyone else get it?
p.s. my computer is messing up so if i dont answer back you ll know why and thxs

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

we have frost here..lcukily everything in the GH is holding up despite not having the heat together yet, but the tropicals are looking pretty beat up...still the new growth looks fine on some things

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

55 degrees at 5 am (smiling wickedly here) ;-)))))

Johns Island, SC

Only 52 degrees this morning on Johns Island---not the 42 degrees predicted. So I raced like a maniac getting all the cold-sensitive tropicals into the greenhouse. Like to killed me! For nothing! I usually move them in over a week or two as night temps dip into the high 40's, which hasn't happened yet. Now I have to move them all out again to install the bench watering systems, then move them all back in again. I HATE weather forecasters!!! They're rarely right, and I'm starting to think they're more trouble than they're worth...

Anderson, SC(Zone 7b)

I never pay attention to TV forecasters. I used to watch the Weather Channel, but now I have Weatherbug on my PC, which is incredibly accurate 98% of the time.

We were 37 this am when I got up around 8; dipping back into the 30's tonight, then warming back up for a few days. Going to use those few warmer nights to get some strawberries put in their bed, then cover them later in the week.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

we got a virus from weatherbug. otherwise we'd still use it.

Anderson, SC(Zone 7b)

wow! I've been using it for about 6 years now and have never had a prob, but I take serious antivirus measures 'cus I work on the net.

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, I feel like we've dodged the bullet so far here. No frost on the ground although we've had some on the windhshield of the cars. Nothing seems to be showing any damage as yet except the hosta...some of which are going to sleep very soon. Gotta say, that crazy hosta Stitch in Time is just sitting there looking like nothing is happening at all! Hummmmm.

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

HUm frost warning all over the news last night. This morning its 39 degrees.

Latest I've ever know it to wait before there was a frost.
