Can you tell what this is?

New Orleans, LA(Zone 8b)

I just divided some of these plants from my sister's house to take home and was wondering if you can tell what this is from the foliage alone. She claims they never bloomed and it was planted underneath a tree with a lot of shade. It is popping up in many places near the main plant. My wild guess is crocosmia. Any ideas? Another option is to be patient and see what comes out of it, but should I expect the foliage to die down? Well, crossing my fingers for an id. Thanks in advance.

Gladiolas perhaps? Whatever it is, it probably wants sun to bloom.

Those are what was once known as Acindanthera; now they are called Gladiolus callianthus. I can't get them to bloom here either--I think they either need a dry winter, more cold, or a dry summer. None of which I can provide. I don't know anyone around here that has any luck with them either. They do get very tall--up to 4'-5' after a number of years, but simply won't bloom. Neither sun, shade, nor part sun does the trick either.

Thanks kTalia and dmj1218. I would love for it to be gladiolus. Thanks for the link. Gladiolus callianthus is very pretty. I hope that's what it is, but only if it flowers! If not, the foliage is nice to have.

Give them a rich deep soil in full sun and pour on the water. They are marsh natives and need constant moisture if not actually boggy soil to reach their ultimate splendor.
