This was taken this morning. I brought the tree in last weekend. Only then did the buds mature and start to open... This tree never blooms outside, not even the hot summer. If the same happens like last year it will continue to bloom until Christmas. I hope!!
Blooms open once tree was brought inside....
Very pretty! What sort of conditions do you have it in outside? Normally hibiscus should bloom all summer long so I'm not sure why yours doesn't bloom until you bring it inside. Your climate's very different than mine obviously but there are some other people here who are in colder zones and I'm pretty sure theirs bloom for them outdoors in the summer.
Wow, very pretty. It would be a plus to have one that bloomed inside until Christmas.
How strange that it doesn't bloom outside - how's the light - do you have it in direct light when it's outside? It's beautiful though - what a special treat to get indoors (like an internal ray of sunshine). Mine flower the entire winter but not as profusely as your tree!! Obviously there's something about where you put it that it really likes! If it's too cold/hot it may react by not using the extra energy to open it's buds. Some like shade better than full/direct sunlight - check to see what's different about your indoor situation vs the outdoors - next year try to mimic what conditions you have indoors to prompt it to bloom for you outside as well. Love the picture!
I have it in full sun for most of the day when it is outside. When I bring it in it get indirect sunlight. My other hibuscas do flower when they are outside but they also flower once I bring them in...
