anybody grow this.
Mine has been full of powder mildew so bad that all the leaves and stems are gone and what's left are orange squashes. Are these squashes suppose to be orange? I thought they were green, they started out green, went to the web site where I got the seed, and it doesn't say that they turn orange when ripe. They kind of look like they have powder mildew onthem too. Should I pick them, their on dead stems now. are they still good with the powder mildew on them?
I've picked most of my long island cheese, and the jarrahdale and hubbard are still growing. we haven't much time left before frost comes.
can other squashes be picked before the vine dies off? the hubbards are probably 8 pounds now.
there are only a couple of jarrahdale out there.
I'll have to find some varieties next fall that don't get the powder mildew so bad.
It was horrible with these winter squsahes this year.
black futsu question
On the Territorial Seed website http://www.territorial-seed.com/stores/1/Futsu_Black_-_Organic_P2469C604.cfm?UserID=17292830&jsessionid=2a30c9bf03e6$D7$22Z$
it says the squash "turns a deep chestnut" in storage and shows a picture of the squash, with one of them a dark orange.
