About the best day...
Very nice, Gordon. :) Love your HG! Maybe your tiny bloom is Alex? Everything looks so happy and healthy next to that New York skyline.
I see you've got some plumies there, too. :) Thought I'd try those out this year. Of course, they are too young to bloom at this point. How about you, have yours bloomed for you yet?
Thanks much for sharing!
Oh, yes, Kits looks like he patrols the rooftop garden to make sure no one enters that shouldn't. :) And there is no such thing as too much whipped cream or Black Bush Irish Whiskey in an Irish Coffee. ;) And definitely no such things as too many flowering brugs!!
wow gordon i am impressed very nice............. is that you in the picture?
Plumeria blooming...sure .. I've afew doozen of them... some too bigto make it outside.. they were here before the brugs... but I'm becomming aconvert... much more of a show..and quicker .. although I did have aplumeria go from seed to flower in 7 months... i's the high heat on the roof that does it..forthem... and that I minimise forthe brugs. by keeping them raised up.. Gordon
From seed to flower in 7 months?!? That's incredible!! What cultivar is in the picture? It's gorgeous!
How beautiful your brugs are! I'd love to be sitting in that chair beneath Serendipity! Good to see your picture too Gordon, your a handsome guy. Thank you for posting!
Pretty!
Your HG looks same color as my "Flame", but size/shape of my bloom takes after the mother(Creamsickle).
Love your garden, but not sure I could stand the height. LOL! When will you have to start taking it all in? I can imagine that won't be a one day job. Great pictures, Gordon.
hey does HG stand for herrenhauser garten? Sorry I am a newbie
yes.. that is indeed what is ment by HG..
I'll be moving them in about the second week of November.. my helper leaves right after.. he also cares for them in my absence.. buthe's going to spend the winter in Mexico..so I'm getting them in a bit eary.. usually sometime around Thanksgiving
ahhhh, Gordon, I bet you sit out every night and enjoy those wonderful blooms. My brugs are just blooming because of the drought and very hot summer we had. I wish I could bottle the smell and sell it.... LOL

WOW, your skyline garden is beautiful. What a wonderful oasis in the city! I look forward to each and every picture you share with us.
Linda
Totally superb GH! Fantastic!
Wow! this one almost got past me, Gordon! I'm in AWE! Always when I see your pictures! Something very addictive about brugs.... The little pink one - maybe Alex? I'm growing one out right now and am yet to see buds or blooms, but I'm still hopeful. I'll be bring everything to the basement this weekend (with my helpers, bless them), but I've put up additional lighting and hope to keep it all growing and fingers are crossed to see the little Alex blooms before Thanksgiving.. I just love your place! A garden oasis, right there in the middle of NYC!
Yes..I guess the small one is Alex... also now...as it's mentioned again as a possible ID.. I recall having one somewhere... it's certainly cute.. in an alltogether new scale..perfect for the small patio brugers... Well thank you Anunt B... but in a garden Oasis,, there would be more seating and creature comforts I'm told... so... I've got to bill it as a plant research facality with perhaps an artistic flare.. although for me there's plenty of comforts in just the plants..
Teresa... Well thanks
Linda... well it's my pleasure to be able to share them also.. as my invited guests ya'll are the only ones to see it..
EFGA1..yes.. I do spend alot of time sitting now that there are so many flowers there.. it's surely overpowering to sit under 100's of them... with another few 100 more in view.. I can't tell you how many perfectly wonderful hours are spent there... As I'm often alseep in a dream in shot order.. truely intoxicating... Best of luck pulling yourself out of your drought .. the pictures and reports from there are scarey... NY C has just installed a new water line to feed the city... as there was only two lines feeding it before... and couldn't be shut down for repair... it being the only one.. so now we have more capacity... and can fix the old ones... these lines come from 100 miles from lakes in the hills... where it's fead by gravity to the city... no pumping required.. as we use 1,350,000,000.. yes.. that's one billion..350 million gallons/day.. how faraway is it here... to drought
Everlasting....pictured
And to continue... hereis a new brug to the world... it's a cross of Ollie and my Texas pink.. flowers are just the lightest pink... lighter than the brug..soft pink... she should go well with a very light purple brug... got to go work on that one...
OH>>>sorry.. the preveious picture was of the Ollie Cross... thisone here isEverlasting

Your rooftop garden is fantastic! If I had not seen that shot of the skyline it would have looked like some place in the tropics. Thank you for the inspiration. :^)
I find it amazing what you've done! Are you so high that only you are able to enjoy it or do you have neighbors that are able to view it and escape?
Simply amazing!
I keep coming back here to look at the pictures.....I've never been to New York. Your roof top garden would be first on my "sights to see" list. Statue of Liberty, Time Square, Central Park? Sure, IF there's time.. are there others growing gardens on their rooftops that you can see?
