I have not posted anything on this forum in many months. To make a long story short, I had to give up all of my plants (at least 300), my greenhouse, my border collie that I got as a pup 12 years ago, all of my furniture, appliances, and anything electrical and move to Australia to be with my husband. I have gone through some really tough times, especially losing my border collie who I still cry over. But we are finally settled down now and I am back to gardening again. I do not have any AVs yet, but I do have a Streptocarpus that I rescued from certain death if left in its current situation. And then today these two tiny little flowers appeared and the were just so cute and I wanted to share them with you.
From what I have seen so far, AVs are not really popular here. I have seen them one time but they did not look very well. But I did want to show this cute little flower.

I am back
Jesse, my heart breaks for you and your puppy and plants, but at least you're with your Hubby. We have missed you here. But.......nothing electrical? Tell us about your new home.
Seems like in my internet roamings I came across an Australian AV club that had some wonderful plants hybridized by members. I'll look again and see what I can find. Is there any way we can send leaves or seeds?

((((Jesse))) Hi,I was wondering where you were.Nice to see you posting!
Thats a pretty plant you have there.Sorry to hear about your dog and plants you had to give up.
Is Australia hard to get plant material in?

That is a nice Streptocarpus plant, Jesse! It looks like the 'Concord Blue'. I have one I got in trade this summer and just love those little blooms. You should upload your picture to PF,

Hi Jesse,
Australia. WOW! That's quite a move girl, but yes, you do get to be with your husband. How long will you be there, do you know? Any move is hard, especially when you have to give up so much to do so, but only physical things (sorry 'bout your puppy though). I always try to look on the bright side of situations and in your case....I don't know if you like succulents at all, but there are some absolutely beautiful hybrid echeverias to be found in AU. I can look up the sites and let you know.
Hope you are both well and can enjoy your stay there. Here's a pretty pic of Shimmer Frost for you to enjoy. Have a great day!
