Looking for a good gaming computer for son

I've been searching for a good gaming computer formy son. he wants a desk top

I saw an acer intel cor 2 duo processor E4500 computer model Am5630-u5202A at Best buy for 749.99 and
I then saw
a hewlet packard that had alot of extras my son doesn't need, but was awesome for gaming but too high in price for 1154.99
it was a hp intel cor 2 quad processor Q6600 computer Model 9040N

Has anybody had any experience with the Acer computers? I've never heard of them bu t this machine is in our price range.
