Noid Pink-from seed to 3yrs old

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

I started this brug from seed in Jan 04, I can't remember the cross... LaMour & Everlasting? I'll never know for sure, but it will always be my special pink beautiful brug. I potted up and sat outside in May and when fall arrived, no blooms, it was about 4-5ft tall. I hauled it to my work and babied it all winter in a south window... hauled it back home in May 05 and put it in a bigger pot and I did get a few blooms, so late I had to sacrifice some to clip it to fit into the basement. In Spring 06 I potted it up in a 25 gal tub and it went bonkers... (pic on computer at work :( The trunk was a good 5 inches across, and finally in mid August it bloomed profusely until I HAD to prepare it for winter... There was no way it was ever going to fit in the basement... so I got out my sawsall and played lumberjack... whacked it right at soil level, ceased water and stored the pot in my basement, watering sparingly every 4-6 wks until spring... I had a big hole available to me as I gave away a little preform pond I had for a couple years, so my helper and I sunk the brug in the hole and this is what it looks like as of last night.

Wow, what a tall one! I love the nodding quality of the blooms. Very nice, and you should be proud! It's cool growing them from seed and seeing it bloom, isn't it?

Thank you, birthday girl ;) I like the nodding ones, too, they seem so proud of themselves, but I like the pendulous kind as well, I'm hopelessly smitten... It is cool, I really didn't know what I was doing back then, I just did my best and look I still have it 3 years later! (I did swallow very hard before I flipped the switch on the sawsall last year)

Such a nice flush, AuntB, and I'm amazed at the number of trunks that developed after your saw attack. :)

Thanks you guyz... It did suffer hail damage in September but luckily it hadn't budded out yet.. I will try to winter over the rootball in the ground, but I doubt I will have success - never know until you try... But, I'll have some nice long cuttings to root for spring.
