A pleasant reward in September in return for supplying a stake in May.

Wow! That is gorgeous, tlb!!! Yes, what is it's name?

Arnold, MD(Zone 7a)

Thank you, Amarantha and Ardesia. To Ardesia and AuntB: "Mysterieux" which translated means I haven't a clue. It simply appeared as a gift in my garden with no help from me. :)

Wow, that's what I call a terrific gift!!

Love it! From now on anything without an ID will be the cultivar 'mysterieux' in my garden.

I believe that is a rose of sharon. Beautiful color.

Thank you, Sandy. I've been told by a local garden group that it is hibiscus moscheutos, but the information I've seen on the web seems to favor your opinion. Thanks to all for your compliments for my accidential visitor, "Mysterieux."

Yep - it's definately a rose of sharon - there are tons and tons of those growing in OK. They also come in double form. Great thing is you won't have to worry about winter storage. It's a beaut!
