ren fest vine ID

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

A co-worker brought back pictures of the renaissance festival, and the church is covered with a very prolific vine. Big leaves and small compound dark pink flowers. Can anyone ID for us?

TIA!

Hi Brigid, could it be coral vine? I think it may go by the name Brides Wreath, would make sense if it was planted around the church. lol but, it's really just a guess.

Oops, it's call Queen's Wreath. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2050/
in the comment section it says "grown at the renasance festival near Houston Texas"

It is a beautiful late summer bloomer. I have known it as coral vine but other common names are rose of Montana, queens' wreath, chain of love. How romantic to cover a church. Love it!

FYI - It also comes in white & it was grown here where I work!!! (Sticking chest out with pride!)

Thanks, folks! That is it, indeed. I sent her the info. (I'm trying to ply her with more reasons to join DG...)
