Aroid Plant question

I have ordered
Alocasia 'Borneo Giant' (Aroid Plant)
Alocasia 'Macrorrhiza' (Aroid Plant)
from Stokes Tropicals
and expect them to ship soon

and I am undecided
1. should I plant them in their targeted locations in my garden (zone 9)
or
2. In my heated greenhouse for the winter then outside in the spring

In your zone I would put them in your heated greenhouse, bringing them outside from time to time when the weather is warm enough. This way you can keep them growing fairly well all winter long. If you plant them out now, cool or cold weather will stop them, uh, cold, and you'll have to wait till Spring for any significant growth.
