When to pot Tulip bulbs down here in SC?

I just bought 85 tulip bulbs to put in containers for a spring rotation into my container garden, but I have no clue as to when to plant them down here in SC 7b/8a?

If I'm supposed to wait until after the first of the year, is it ok to store them in the house?

I would plant them now. Tulips need at about 3 weeks of 50F daytime temperature for proper root development. In youor zone, plant in light shade, but not too wet. Tulips need about 15 weeks of chilling @ 44F or colder.
