iRISINE (Chicken Gizzard) plant need food?

Williams, CA(Zone 9a)

I have an irisine in a container on my screen porch that has grown well, but to me seems a little "spindly" Suggestions for these plants are welcome. I love their beautiful maroon leaf and stem coloring.

all the ones that i have seen at this time of the year are looking like that....; i am wondering if that is a characteristic of the plant ....; if not, i will be interested to see what someone else answers

Placenciarita...

Your irisine looks fantastic. Mine is tall, leggy and spindly. I'm now at my fall pot renovation point and think this one needs to go into the plant hospital...all cut back. If it survives and comes back, it's a bonus!

KatG, that is exactly what I am planning to do to my hanging basket. I really enjoyed this plant. It's very easy to care for. rita
