Jatropha integerrima seeds at last

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have been growing spicy jatropha for a few years. It blooms every year for me but this is the first time I have seeds. Here is the bloom.

Here are the seeds.
This plant is supposed to be hardy to 9b , but it grows very well here on the cusp of 8a/8b.

Looks like mini tiny weeny pumpkins!!

And, if they come without seeds, wouldn't they be "hollow-weeny" pumpkins? ROFLMAO!

LOLOLOL.......

Way to go!

Congratulations.

If you pick the seeds too soon they won't be ripe and if you wait until they are ripe they will shoot all over the yard. I "bag" mine to catch the seeds. I have also found they germinate best when the seeds are fresh.

I missed em and they burst all over the yard. Boo hoo.

I keep trying to root this 'baby pink' to share with Ardesia........may have to resort to the nursery who swears by his rooting powder to get the job done. Maybe I will start looking for seed?????????
