If this has been asked before and answered, I apologize. I didn't find the answer by searching. I would like to grow some from seed and am wondering how long on average it will be before they will bloom.
Thanks,
Karen
How long does it take for a passiflora to bloom from seed?
Thanks for the reply. I would really like to grow them from seed. Actually, I love them but can't really afford what is being changed for the plants here. On the other hand, I don't have the patience to wait for something to take 3-5 years to bloom. LOL. So, your info is good news.

Mine bloom in 5 months to 2 years.Depends on the species and conditions.
After much trial, error and research, the best answer I can give is between 2 weeks to one year for sprouting (depends on the variety).
Some Passiflora must reach a certain length to flower. Others will flower in a season. Still others will never flower unless specific conditions are met. Yet others may take as long as two or three years to flower.
My advice is to research the various Passiflora, see what appeals to you visually, then investigate whether your zone or artificial environment will suit the plant's needs. It is better to have 10 happy Passies than 30 strugglers sapping your energy. Researching before investing is the key.
Enjoy the learning and growing!
Hi,
Thank you all for your input. I really appreciate it. The seeds I bought are supposed to be hardy to zone 8. I will look up the individual cultivars and see what I can find since there appears to be such a difference among them. I had no idea there would be that much difference, but it's good to know.
Thanks again,
Karen
