What's wrong with my Peruvian Daffodils?

Claremore, OK

I have 2 Peruvian Daffodils that come up but never bloom what am I doing wrong?

Adrian, MO(Zone 6a)

they may just be too young to bloom

Claremore, OK

Nope, they are several years old.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Do you lift them and store them for the winter? Maybe the cold weather in winter prevents them from blooming.

Claremore, OK

Nope, I just leave them in the ground. I know other people grow them around here and have them bloom.

Kalama, WA(Zone 8b)

Mine didn't Bloom this year either. Last year they gave a very long and beautiful show. The best they've ever bloomed sense I've had them. I'm thinking mine may have gotten too crowded to bloom so I'm thinking I should divide them. Hopefully they'll bloom again next year after they've been divided. Could this be why your's aren't blooming?

Nope, they are far apart and in different beds. They just come up and produce leaves, but no flowers and they have done that for several years now.

crowding or inadequate water during the growing season. i'm quoting from book, propagation basics by steven bradley. they are called blind bulbs, leaves but no flowers.

Okay, thank you. I'll move all them next year and see what happens.

Mine didn't bloom either, first year for no blooms and I beleive it was caused by our drought.

Thanks for the input.

You are welcomed! I love these bulbs too, and mine did have the most wonderful leaves, thick and green, but no flowers. Last year they had big beautiful flowers too...and I was so looking forward to them again...but nature didn't cooperate so I will wait another season. They are wonderful to have in the garden though!

Mableton, GA(Zone 7a)

Mine didn't bloom either. I had the straps, but no blooms. I think mine are in too much shade. I moved one 2 years ago to see if it made a difference, and it had one bloom. But nothing from any of them this year. I think I will move them in the spring. If we'd get a sunny day in the upper 50's, I'd try to move them now, but it has been too cool and wet lately. (Can't believe I am using those 2 words to describe GA!) What a year!

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7b)

If you can move them now! Add a cup of bone meal to your planting area and water the dickens out of them. You just might get bloom this spring.

Thanks for the info.

It's supposed to be 63 here on Saturday. I'll dig them up and move them. They still have their green straps. Thanks doccat5!
