This is just a single, but I thought it would be fun to watch it open.
Wanna watch this seedling open?
Yes---I'll be watching!

Me three!

Yeppers! Most definitely! And, look at those twangers!! Va-voom!!
Bet she's stretching out, now! Fun, ZZ!
wow very nice i can not wait for it to open
Oh! It's almost magical! How PRETTY!! It does seem like a long time for some of them... longer when the weather ISN'T scorching, but the blooms last longer then, too.. I like how they seem shy about flaring out their skirts! Good time in the brug patch last night! I took some pics of a noid emerging - pink. Peach Versi was STILL loaded and looking good... I wish I could bottle the smell and sell it on ebay! ZZ, how exciting... we'll TRY to wait patiently for them to "fluff" :)
She's enjoying (milking) her spotlight, ZZ... Nice Form! Soooo pretty! Bubblegum?! Cool! I wanna smell, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Thankz AuntB... she is just gonna be white I think... but oh well.. there are about 80 more to wait for! LOL I think it's fun to post the opening of seedling buds, even at the risk of an embarrassing single white. :)
I checked her fragrance again.. and yes.. it has a faint smell of bubble gum! Wild huh? Bubble gum brug scent.. can you imagine that?
I'm trying to imagine. . . . (HEY, Dave, we need postable scratch and sniff patches!) Nothing shameful about a single white bloom, they're ALL nature's miracles... and yours smells like bubblegum! I've never heard anyone describe one as 'faint bubblegum smell'..... I'll be watching for the final color... Is this one you got in the package of 3? I've been snapping pics of a pink noid; the sun was shining, making the buds look like an x-ray, so I could see the little tendrils working their way down INSIDE the bud... Like a sonagram... a few days later they broke through the bud "pod", the little tendrils all curled around in a circle and shy, soon they were barely uncurling, as if peeking out to see what the world has to offer, then fear of the unknown banished and they really get all their "feelers" stretching out..... and then the skirt starts to puff out and color up, then the smell and I'm just smitten! It is so fun watching them grow... I'm so peaceful and content when I'm out there soaking up the beauty!
Sufferin' sucatash! Where'd this thread come from??? I missed all the action.
LOVELY flower. Is that a pod that I spot in one pic???
Good job ZZ! It looks great!
ZZ? Is there anybody out there????
Just knock if you can hear me
How's this one doing?
ssssshhhhhhhh.... let's just slip into her back yard a take a peek! Don't forget your snippers.... I MEAN camera....
knock, knock.....Guess she's still out there snapping pics....... where IS everyone? I went to a DG round-up 4 hours away today. I thought I would miss out
Those are absolutely lovely. There's something abut a Brug with a fancy curtsey that makes me love it.
It is very proper looking. I like it ZZ!
She said bye bye today..
??? What do you mean???
She went outside with a sign that said FREE.. she was gone in 15 minutes. Now the neighbor can take care of her and I still get to see her! (one of the benefits of being the manager, I have 85 potential brug addicts waiting to happen) LOL
Awwwwwwwwwww! I wanna live in your park! ;-(
whew!! I was thinking you burned her or something!!
I can see you now, though. You'll be going over to the person who took the brug, when you see droopy leaves, or cat holes, etc., etc., and you'll be taking care of it again. ;)
LOL! Yep, she should have kept it! ;-) Much easier than that long distance care.
ZZ!!! Abandonment, out right, that's what it is! lol (I can see you with your bucket of tools, sprays and camera) Poor little white bruggie... :( It was nice of you to share that way ;)
Okay you guyz.. This was another one of those PAINFUL life's lessons I think I've had just about enough of these days... LOL This would be just my luck too...
One of the single whites.. #7 above is TURNING ORANGE!!! I can't even muster up the courage to go look at the other one... but you can bet when I do, I will have a pair of clippers in my pocket. LOL
Moral of the story?
DON'T GIVE UP ON A SINGLE WHITE IN THE FALL TILL THE BLOOM IS COMPLETELY FINISHED!!!!!!
Okay..sorry I screamed.. I had to get this off my chest.
I tried to get a pic, but the sun just came up and it's not true color and the flash washed it out.. I will try again later.. I have to go to work.
ARGH!!!
Live and learn. ZZ, what else can I say? Patience pays? I was just saying how proper she was, Teresa commented on how fancy her polite curtsy was and you dismissed her without a second thought (till now)... poor white brug.. (that's almost brug racism, my dear! lol) Aw, I think it was just a plain ol run of the mill white, no loss.. Don't feel bad... it makes a great story!
Tsk tsk... what a life lesson that was! :-(
