I just found out last night that it would be Canada's Thanksgiving. I love that holiday. Aside from all the good food, friends and family it's usually my birthday too. I hope everyone in Canada has a great and blessed Thanksgiving....

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Hope everbody had ,or will have if you celebrate today,a great Thanksgiving. I came home pretty stuffed last evening. ( and with a plate of leftovers for tonite!) We have a little neighborhood dinner that started out many years ago as a 'Lost Soul's Dinner" people who had no family around here. He loves to cook and we always have something unusual - a new appetizer or a new soup and does the turkey, and trimmings, the rest of us bring veggies ( usually the 'fruit's' of our gardens) dessert etc.

I join you with those thoughts for all.

I also ask that you think of the family of slain RCMP Constable Chris Worden. Chris studied violin with me for several years a long time ago and he and his whole family are wonderful people - the kind of people for whom we need to be truly thankful and this is a hard blow for them.

The family of Cst Worden have been in my thoughts. I worked 3 years in the north and got to know many of the RCMP through my work. Have also been to Hay River hospital many times. Blessings and peaceful thoughts for his family.

We had our thanksgiving last weekend when my dad turned 75. Was a lovely evening with 24 of their best friends.

Happy thanksgiving to all, I do consider myself truley lucky for the friends and loved ones in my life.

Port Dover, Canada

I'd like to add my best wishes too.
The day is almost over, but here in Southern Ontario it's still very warm...24C with a humidity factor making it feel like 30.
I'll be grateful for some real Fall weather.

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

Yes
Happy Thanksgiving to all too!
We are truly blessed to be living in Canada. I see what is happening around the world and thank my lucky stars and parents for having the presence of mind to move here in 1963.
This is the best place to live!
Blessings to you and may Peace be with you all.

Has anyone heard from Pati????

She hasn't posted since she opened this thread, I'm worried because she didn't respond to a dmail I sent her on 11/29 asking if she was OK.

Pati posted in coffee this morning -

Quoting:
Good morning!!! The "lurker" is back . In my medicine induced fog I missed Thanksgiving, so I'll take this time to say I hope it was wonderful for all of you.

Things are looking up for Christmas, so I hope I'll be posting (or lurking) more as time goes on.

They say a bad penny always turns up, but this bad penny has a little more shine because of friends who care!
(((hugs)))
Pati

PS I'm not going to push my luck, so I'll copy this message onto a couple of more threads.
