Broody Hen

Lapeer, MI

There is this hen that really wants kids LOL! I pick it up from inside the nest box and put it outside. Few minutes later I see it back in there. Sometimes it just goes and lays on NOTHING. I heard about the wire fence thing you could do. You put it on a wired fence and the under side of the hen gets cold, and it gives up. But I have no possible way to do it.

Any help...

Thanks, Eric

Why not just let her sit on air or golf balls till she gets bored and gives up on her own.... it's a lot easier.

Well she's been on them for over a month now. And she looks to be panting furiously. It's about 85 deg here.

I know it's the same temp here and I have a hen that is broody as well. Just seems to stress them more if you try to force them to leave the nest.
