hi everyone i just got 4 beutiful silkies 3pullets and one roo and they are just little fuzballs

I have just had 4 chicks hatched last night in the coop one has got really cold as she wandered away from her mum, I have brought the chick indoors under a heat lamp. How can I keep the chicks with mum but make sure they are warm enough at night if they leave her.

maybe put a box of shavings in and put them all in there so they cant wander

what about the hen ?? do we put her in the box aswell??

yeah....you would need something big enough for her, but it will keep them from going too far. I would just think you would need it for a short time. They should be fine. We got a good frost last night.....its 30 degrees right now here.

I am looking at trying to gently heat the coop so it is not so cold.

The little one that got away from its mum died about an hour ago but we still have 3

Here in Cheshire England it is not really cold about 60 degrees at the moment.
