Last summer my son brought home seeds a lady
in Tulsa had given him. She didn't know the name
of the plant, but stated it must be brought indoors
during the winter. That is truly all we know. Nothing
about blooms, size, nothing.
I realize this is a long shot, but if anyone can help
me to identify them, I'll send one offer of five seeds.
They are hard, very hard, like a Lotus seed. I had to
run them over a belt sander to see the inner seed beyond
the hard coat. Beyond the coat, the meat is a yellowish color.
My apologies, this is not the clearest picture, but I would truly
appreciate any input.
Please note, they are not Moonflower seeds.
Many thanks!
CLOSED: Help me to identify these and I'll share some...
I'll take a shot, some sort of Cassia?
a iris
looks like iris
They are Pride of Barabado's (Caelespina Pulcherrima) my spelling is bad, I know..
beautiful bush..
Here is the link I copied off of Lazlos down there..

Also, these need alot of moisture while germinating and heat... use a heat mat, and open the domes several times a day... or they also can get wilt.
Edited to say: Don't need any seeds, please share them with any of the above three.. I purchased about 6 bushes a couple of months ago..lol when we moved here there pretty much was NOTHING.... They are very much drought tolerant ONCE you get them going.

That very well could be it.
Gourd got there before me, my first guess is ceasplina my second would be big fat albizzia seed! lol.
seeds seem kinda big for those
What about those bauhania then?
Wrong shape
Yeah, they are really big and fat when they are fresh.
A.
I had 3 kinds of caesplina last year and tere was one that was twice the size of the others.
I can't tell you if they grew correctly as i gave them away.
My vote goes with the Pride of Barbados seeds. The seeds vary a bit in size with the color of the plant. I have noticed seems to be bigger than the yellow and yellow bigger than the pink and red.
Oh, my gosh, you are all so good, thank you!
My apologies, I've been gone for the day and did not
have a chance to check the thread until now.
Wow. Gourd, I don't doubt you are indeed correct.
I'll try to germinate some and will post the seedlings
if successful.
Many thanks!

Oddly enough, there is a tiny little foot tall thing growing
that I was about to post about last week. It looks like a baby
Mimosa, but I know it is not. When I viewed the images on
the link Gourd provided, I was stunned, thinking maybe, just
maybe, could it be?
After all, it is growing in the ivy where I often empty the vacuum
cleaner cannister. No one sees it, it's mainly dirt and seeds I
drop in the office, etc. The ivy hides the mess. Circle of life, so
to speak, ha ha! Several years ago I remember having seeds
for this, from J.L. Hudson.
Would I be completely nuts to think maybe this could be a POB
seedling?
Many thanks!
You'll need to nick and soak those for a while.
Thats what it looks like as a seedling, be sure to mist it, or the others when they germinate. I gave several 6 packs away in CA, but just do not have the heart to start over here... we moved and now to start over will just take too long, so I bought some..lol.
Already ahead of the game here..lol.
A.
