Moby, I can't find any references to a named variety called 'Chocolate' - can you tell me where you received this plant? Knowing the seedsman might help us track it down ;o)

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Yeah, what she said, need to track this cool dark one down!
Or beg a couple of seeds off you. :-) or trade you a couple of Red Spire caster seeds as seen in this post, original seeds from Eclipse.

I'll gladly trade with you Sue.

Terry ~ I'm absolutely sure I saw reference to 'Chocolate' somewhere on the internet, so was very surprised when I found it this Spring at a local grower. After entering it in the PF, I searched the 'net to double check my info and couldn't find a thing.

It came with a pre-printed tag. I'll try calling the grower to see if I can get any more info.

I called B & B Greenhouses (where I purchased the plant) and talked to the gentleman of this family run business. They grow all the annuals for the city parks here. He said he's had 'Chocolate' for about 15 years and only grows it and the pink and red flowered kinds. Rogues out any that may have cross pollinated. Might have come from Thompson and Morgan, or any of about 15 other seed sources.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
