Because of tje area I am in, my tomatoes on most plants are just ripening. October tends to be one of our warmer months. Some plants have and are producing large green tomatoes which should ripen up within a couple of weeks. However, some of these lovely green tomatoes have produced very watery and moldy spots. So my question is, should I prune back some of the heavy foliage to attain more air circulation? How much. Half of the plant? More?
Thanks.

I have no idea. Certainly fall tomatoes here have their share of diseases and pruning does not seem to help. But California is a different world.
I suspect there is a County Extension Agent even in Berkeley, California. Why don't you either photograph or pick one of the bad tomatoes and take it to him/her. They are listed in the phone book under the County in my state. If that doesn't work, find a gardening shop. I have seen some nice ones in your area. The important thing is to find other people in Berkeley who grow tomatoes. They will know the local tomato diseases and what to do about them. You aren't seeing Blossom End Rot are you? Any chance you could post a picture of a diseased tomatoes here.
