How to clean critters out of soil so I can save my brugs

Redford, MI(Zone 6a)

I had planted my brugs from last year directly in the ground this time because it was easier than standing pots up every time it became windy. Last night we dug them up and put them all back into pots. They will stay outside until they give a frost warning and then they will come in. What can I do with the soil so I don't bring in insects. I have tried to find out online but have found nothing. Please help!

Every Fall, I did my brug. up out of the ground, Soak them for 10 min. in Bayers Tree and Shrub and then pot them up in fresh potting soil that I have added systemic insecticide too, then I spray them good with an insecticide and bring them into the greenhouse.

I saturate all of my pots with Merit 76 WP, spay the leaves with Forbid, before moving them inside for the winter. Merit takes care of all pests.

Thanks so much for the help. I was only saving three but ended up saving all eight. Just too pretty to let go. They were all brought in last year and did so well that they deserve to live.

Oh and another thing one has a couple of small pods on them. Only maybe 2 in. long, will they continue to grow and if so, then what do I do?

Seems like I always say "And THAT one is not coming in this fall" and then, it spends winter in my basement.... Just too pretty to let go to the elements.... thanks for the links, ZZ. They're all spoiled, like my children.

Thanks for the links ZZsBabiez, I'll check them out. AuntB, glad that I'm not the only one. I really was determined to only keep a couple but just can't do it!
