CLOSED: Have White Pampass Grass seed
does this grow easily from seeds?
Don't know. Haven't tried it yet. I had it at my other house and cut some plumes in the fall of 2006. Then we moved in May of this year, but I never got the chance to start it. I plan to wintersow some seeds in December.

I have really been wanting some of that pampas grass, I would love to try some seeds. Ill send you a SASBE. are you in the trade addresses?
Yes, I'm in the exchange. I'll add these to your crape myrtle seeds.
JoAnn
Thank you! Kel
You should know that pampas grass is considered a very invasive and destructive weed in California. It reseeds everywhere and takes over any native plants in its way. If you google it and the word "invasive" you'll find all the information on it.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...but this is a really, really bad plant.
Yes, in SOME zones it is invasive, so if you're from one of those areas - be aware. Here in GA it isn't invasive, but lots of people have it and is used quite a bit in landscaping architecture for homes and businesses.
These are gorgeous plants in my zone also. Not invasive at all, and grow in places hard to get anything else to grow, but always stay where you put them.
In SC it is used all the time and it isn't invasive. I wonder what makes it a problem in CA? I have never seen it reseed it's self and I have 7 big ones.
I'm going to close this thread for now as I will be leaving for Pennsylvania on Wednesday to take care of my sister for 2 weeks after her major surgery on Thursday. For those of you who may have sent SASBE's, if they don't arrive by tomorrow, I will send your seeds when I get back home on the 24th.
JoAnn
I hope your sister is OK. That is very nice of you to take care of her. Everyone deserves a sis like you. I will say a prayer for her, and you. Kel
Thanks, Kel, I covet your prayer for us.
