After the blooms drop off here in DC, we take all our orchids to Vieques to see what they'll do. This Burana Sunshine seems to like the change of scene.
You'll note that we've ganged a number of orchids around the base of a mahogany tree, and all seem to be showing nice, new growth. Is it advisable to put them together like this, or should each one have more of its own space?

Burana Sunshine blooms again - pic 1
What a gorgeous flower! Orchids like a lot of air circulation, so as long as they have plenty of air in and around them, they should be just fine. So far, they sure look as if they like it!
Beautiful, beautiful orchid!
Do you have them planted in a pots or straight into a pile of lava rock? Wish mine looked that good....
Nice to see you back with us again! How did the mosquito dunks work out?
Aloha!
Just put the bT pellets out while we were there for a long weekend just past, and didn't have time to notice results. I will keep you posted.
We have found here, that they bloom more prolifically when in sun....I know most people say shadier is better, but I have several that I moved from shade to sun, and they bloomed almost immediately! I think every climate is different, so you will soon know what your's prefer.
