Here's a stange bird..um, I mean peacock

Kaempferias "Top Hat". I just found the strange looking thing. I think I bought it because it was so strange.

That is very different and I love it! I wish anywhere around here sold gingers, but I'd never seen a kaempferia until a person I trade with from overseas had sent one to me.

I wonder if that one has more of a pattern on the leaves earlier in the season

Well I don't know since I just purchased it. My nursery friend only picked up two for her from her grower. I got one for a friend and one for myself. They were not cheap. But I figured I would stick this in the ground then next year I will have more. The new leaves if you can manage to see them growing under and through older leaves are all green also.
