No its in NY just over the line from Bennington area. I have no idea if he will find any. I heard there is a Breeder in Mount Vernon NH. Someone on BYC is trying to get some contact info. What in NH...Deerfield?

Hey Lurky!

There is a the NH Poultry Fanciers Show in Deerfield, NH at the fairgrounds on Oct. 14th. I got some silkies there last year.

Where is the NY one? I wonder how far away it is from us, Lora?

are you oging to be breeding them or are they just for fun?

Woodsville, NH

Bennington VT is about 2 hours from you, mapquest.com will help show you where. I am not going to go. I had enough last weekend. My husband is taking the 14th off so we can go the NH one (plus its our anniversary and if he isn't here for our 1st one after all the days he takes off for EOS and Masons he would be in deep chicken poop)
Now there is also a great showgirl/silkie breeder in Mass, I will see if I can find the website. She does it professional. I have a buff or two I can part with if you have something I want. Do you have a very nice black rooster? I have an excellent black hen that needs a really nice hubby. Or even some nice dark egg layers. I am open to trades, use d-mail and contact me!

OK...sorry it took so long to get this on here. We had to take our dogs to the vet tonight and found out or oldest has a severe heart murmur :( He was fine in Feb this year, so its not good that it came on so fast. Rough night. So here is the thing. Its not a fair, its at the fairgrounds in a town (dont ask me to say it) schaghticoke NY which is just west of Bennington. Its a poultry sale and here is the link i found. I hope this works http://www.schaghticokefair.com/special.htm

I have already tried with the silkie breeders in Mass. Most of them wont sell to you if you wont take a Roo also.
I understand that they need to place them too, but i have 4 silkies and i doubt they will all be girls. They look it now, but they are only 10 weeks old. I do want one silkie roo, but i dont know...i need to know what mine are first. I dont really have anything to trade. I have the green stuff to trade??? Most people like that. I do have a friend with Roos and they are always trying to get me to take one. I can look into that.....I know they are dark but not sure what. I want to go to the new york show now. Oh and i am not looking for show birds....just pets. I love all my chickens.....they are the best!!!
the ones i have are all blues....one all blue and 3 blue splash. They are so beautiful and sweet.

oh this is too exciting! I don't even know what I am looking for, honestly. I'd have to think about it. I have a splash roo and two partridge roos, but the rest are all hens, I think. Let me get back to you.

I just got home from Lora's with 4 of her silkies. Thank you Lora!!! I will take very good care of them. We already named the light buff 'Bandit' because she was so hard to catch LOL I cant wait to spend some time with them tomorrow since it was dark when i got home.

HI LORA......I girls seem happy. They dont want to bother with me yet, but LOVE this little corner in the yard where you can see in the coops to the others. There are my 3 EE bantams and the dark buff seems to have a crush on the EE boy. They will meet one day :) For now i got them out and they had acorn squash, sunflower hearts and apples. They ate some of everything. They seem the happiest when i leave them alone LOL. I am letting them adjust. I thought i would post a couple pics on here, i thought it would be easier on your dial up?
