This one went into the ground last December, here on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. She gets about five hours of morning sun, then shade, and is drip irrigated. I have used Osmocote 17-17-17 to feed and a variety of insecticides/fungicides (orthene and Neem oil mainly), though perhaps not frequently enough.
What is causing the dark spots on the leaves?
Also, no flowers yet --will she produce at some point here, or should I move her to a sunnier spot?
Thanks for any insights you can provide.

Spots on Plumeria Leaves
Hi JP, I don't think you have to move it, but six hours or more of full sun is ideal if you have a sunnier spot. However, I have some in the same situation -- five hours of morning sun then shade -- and they seem to grow and bloom all right. Some leaves just naturally have spots, but this looks like it could be an insect like rust mites or broad mites. If you turn the leaf over, do you see orange spots beneath? If so, that is rust. In any case, whether this is caused by insects or rust, regular spraying of Neem oil or another Miticide should do the trick. I would start by removing all the spotted leaves and spraying the others.
I get these spotc on mine also I dont know what does it either doesnt seem to cause much harm. I am thinking stink bugs but thats just a guess
We were told that is a rust mite.
JP, after I wrote the message to you yesterday, I went outside to do some work, and I found that several of mine have the same spots. I think it just could be some sort of mildew and is harmless as Ted said.
I get them here too i figured it was acid rain didn't start till we had a lot of rain pool turned green too. Just figured it was acid rain.?
Have the spots on a couple of plumeria, figured it to be from the county helicopter spraying mosquitoes.
Rust never sleeps!!
a great song by Neil Young and a fact of life living in the Caribbean, plummies included. Miss Clare was the first to tell me about it, see sticky notes above....i treated mine for rust and it's been almost 4 months....rust re-appearing now and as soon as it stops raining, i will treat again....rust does NOT seem to affect bloom growth, but it turns leaves ugly and should be pulled off....some folks just live with it and do no treatment at all....sometimes hard to treat 5 acres of plummies.....small aircraft maybe...hmmmm...
