i have 2 trades of 8 seeds. these came from a plant that bloomed this spring on Hilton Head Island, SC outdoors. it's location is tchnically 8b, but most winters are 9a. this year was harsh, but it sailed through with flying colors. anyone interested? i'd like anything hardy to 8b/9a.
here is the plant this spring
possibly hardy strelitzia nicolai seeds.
I was down point comfort road and saw about 10 strelitzia nicolai, some were 10 ft or so tall. Look around in ashton cove and the next street after that. I never realized they were hardy on HHI. These houses are all close to the marsh and board creek so I sure that's what's protecting them.
yeah, that may be it.... but in 9a w/ occasional 8b winters???? maybe... i guess. i'm trying one this year. i'll throw a blanket over on cold nights...
