Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate/Persicaria orientalis for trade

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

I really enjoyed growing this plant this year. I will continue to grow it, but need to swap my abundance with others that have lovely cottage variety seeds for trade. Freshly collected and cleaned. I'll say one trade is one full teaspoon full of seeds.. If your in the mood for more, just tell me you'd like to trade for more! I will send to you in a envelope folded inside envelope. While I've been on Daves for a while now, I really do need to start swapping seeds!!

I have just grown this for the first time this year. It is a wonderful plant. I understand from the friend who gave it to me that it is a half hardy annual. I like that it grows so nice and tall and is strong and sturdy, not at all floppy! I don't need any seeds from it as I have harvested some for next year. I have quite a variety of seeds, is there anything in particular that you would like?
One of the most showy things I had this year was the giant purple amaranth. It grew to 6 feet tall and was loaded with 'flowers'. I hacked one off and put it in a jar and took it to the local county fair and won reserve grand champion....THAT made me laugh! The flowers that I took more pains with, got much less ratings! It grows to 6 feet tall with a burgundy stalk and tint in the leaves. The flowers are giant spikes of deep burgundy. I can't find a photo that does it justice.

I would love some of these seeds . I have been looking for these since the spring, they are sorta hard to find, huh? What kind of seeds are you wanting? I have some really light pink georgous single Hollyhock seeds, or some black hollyhock seeds, too. Just let me know sorta waht you are wanting.

Sharon

Backus, MN

I think the light pink hollyhocks would be wonderful. I have a medium dark pink, a burgundy and black hollyhocks....the light pink would be the perfect one to round out the 'show'!!
D-mail me for address exchanging.

Middleton, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm sorry. I guess we just posted at the same time, I was wanting the Kiss me over the garden gate seeds, Do you have some of those? If you do I would love to trade you some of my light pink Hollyhock seeds for them. I'm in the exchange, JLMK

Thanks,
Sharon

Backus, MN

Well, I have plenty of that also!!!
I save WAY too many seeds of anything!!
Let me know if you want Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate, and Giant Purple Amaranth. I will send both to you, if you would like them. I might even throw in a surprise or two that you can keep to try or pass on to others.

Middleton, TN(Zone 7a)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Susan, seeds are just fine. I haven't forgotten your back breaking canna dig you did for me for postage. They are doing wonderfully too!
I actually received the West Texas Mist flower from Texas. LOL It's so easy to grow and divides well. I have it in serveral places. Put it where it can have room to spread out. I'll get you a box out on Monday so it won't sit at the post office over the weekend.

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Well... you also already gave me plants for those cannas remember!!?? I'll d-mail you back now! :)

Coming back to look over trades!

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Joann.. I have spent lot sof time looking over your list and it's hard for me to decide between fanfare gaillardia and white cleome. I grow the regular tall gaillardia and purple cleome, but would love to try those.. Do you still have either of those.. I will be taking inventory of all my seeds this morning to see if there is anything else you would like.

For You too Sharon!

Susan

Winterville, GA(Zone 8a)

Oh, m' gosh, Susan! All those dahlia's and roses! I'll take one of each! LOL! Your garden must be absolutely gorgeous. I can send you both the gaillardia and white cleome, I have plenty of each, but I can't decide on what I want from your list. They're all so pretty, but if you want to send me some rose seeds (any) I'll take those. Just surprise me.

JoAnn

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

ohhhhhhhhhh JoAnn, sorry.. I should have stated this at the top.. I started putting things in my trade list becasue Daves doesn't put pictures in the other areas.. like the zip code tracker and such.. Also, they have modified it now, but it use to be a pain to list plants in any other form other than seeds, so many got put into that catagory. This is from my bio--
"Please note that I do not have all the plants in the plant trader for trade. They are most likely plants I have just acquired and it will take a few years before I have enough to trade. I prefer to list them in the tradelist as opposed to the journals, as I can see the pictures alongside from the plantfiles and refer back to them as I start to become familiar with my plants.

I will list my other seeds here.. hopefully by tonight and no later than tomorrow :)

Do you have any more KMOTGG left. I would really love to have as many as I can trade for. I have some beautiful orange cosmos seeds. The hummers and the butterflies love them. They are a great cottage garden flower.

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

I have seeds left :) Sounds great :)
Do you have a link to your plant??
:)
Susan

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Here is one. It isn't as clear as I would like it to be. I can take one later if you want.

I have been extremely happy with the orange cosmos. They have bloomed all summer and are still full of blooms. I think the only thing that is going to kill them is frost. :(

I would like some too please.
I am new to collecting and trading seeds. I do not have many.
What I do have: Pride of Barbados, Texas Star Hibiscus, Mimosa Tree
Redbud.
Please and Thank You.

Northeast, LA(Zone 8a)

I would love to have the KMOGG seeds I have beautiful hibiscus seeds http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1888/ or other seeds if this is not desirable.

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Hey Macybee.. do you think pride of barbados would bloom for me in one deason? that looks very interesting :)

Riverland, I LOVE hibiscus.. and I have all the seeds too! Any others? :)

Susan

Deer Park, TX(Zone 9a)

I don't know about in 1 season. Like I say, I am new to seeds. All the plants I have came from starter plants.
It is very pretty and mine could be prettier if my husband would stop trimming it back. (He's always fussing about my plants! He has his motorcycle, I have my plants.)
I do have some fresh Scheffelera seed. They say they do not store well...??? Sweet Basil (Do not know how to separate the seed. Do you know? Just send Chaffe and all? Wild sunflower seed. (The flowers are not very big. Maybe size of a Zinnia flower.) I need to put these on my have list but I am not to sure of myself.
On the sunflower I found a seed pod??? Thought you used the dried flower for seed. (There was only one pod.)
Whatever
Honey

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Susan, I winter sowed pride of barbados and it is a very slow grower for me. It will be worth the wait, though. I love this plant! Hopefully mine will be bloom size next year.

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Macybee.. your husband trims things you don't want him to!!?? Thats Criminal! :) D-mail me your address and i'll send mine :)

Deborah, do you have to bring yours indoors.. or do you leave it outside?? Does it die to the ground with a freeze, or kill the whole plant? It looks amazing!

Susan

Deer Park, TX(Zone 9a)

It would also be criminal if I shot him!

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Yes, and they probably don't grow pride of Barbados in the pokey, so best try to talk to him about it instead! :)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Susan, I'm leaving it in the ground and hoping for the best.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Susan, my Pride of Barbados has buds!!!! I won't have to wait to see it bloom next year! Hip-Hip-Hurray! It sure is a small plant though. Hopefully it will grow bigger next year to look like the ones in plantfiles.
Your Heucheras are growing fine and out-of-this-world beautiful. Thanks again.

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Yea!! :) I'm so glad!! I have seeds now so I'll be growing it too! :) Great..glad you like the purple palace. :)
