Wasnt sure where to post this but I had to show it off. It's one of my most recent aquisitions on my discounted rounds to Lowes

Rubber Tree
Ficus elastica 'Variegata'

I under stand seeds can be obtained from it. Is that true, anyone?

yes, if it gets large enough to make figs...

by figs do u mean seed pods?

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

the figs have flowers inside (ficus is latin for fig), which turn into the fruit eventually

I've had rubber trees that grew real big before but never gave fruit.

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9b)

We had a HUGE one that we tore out after the big freeze last winter (it only froze to the roof line but it was in a bad spot), it never fruited.

That's ok......didnt want fruit in the house anyway

I bought this plant from Lowes 2 years ago in a 4 inch pot. Now it is probably 4 ft tall. Mine makes little sucker plants right next to it, no seeds that I've noticed.
I tried keeping it inside as a nice little houseplant. It hated it indoors-even in a nice bright spot lol. It likes it on my patio where it gets dappled morning sun , afternoon shade.
Yours is very pretty, Anaid.
