moving and splitting a crinum?

Lake Worth, FL

I need to move this crinum so the city has access to my water meter. What is the best way to do this? Also, is it possible to split this plant into 2 without destroying it? I have never attempted to move or split a plant as I am new to gardening. Any advice is appreciated!

thanks

I think it's a fine time to move it. I would dig up the whole clump, then gently tease the bulbs apart. Crinums are usually tough plants. It shouldn't mind being dug or divided. Just make sure to water well after the transplant.

it will survive just fine but may pout about the transplant and miss a season of bloom

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

and dig very deep.I never realized how deep they really go.
