Hello all you Hibiscus fans! I was just wondering if anyone with Hibs can participate here, or if you have to know the names. I have some gorgeous Hibiscus, but don't have any idea of the "cultivars" since I live on a tiny rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and who knows what these have crossed with. Here's an example:
No fancy names.....
They're lovely blooms, Shari! And yes, come one, come all, names or not to our fun Hibiscus forum :-)

IslandShari,
Your blooms are magnificent. Welcome to the "we are totally hibiscus addicts" club.

Thanks for the welcome Cathy! After my erroneous post regarding San Bernadino, I was afraid I had worn out my welcome on my first day! I love my Hibs....I have so many - and want so many more....but I think I have to be content with just enjoying them, what identifying I have tried to do just results in frustration....
We don't care if they have names or not, we just like to see pretty pictures! Depending on where yours came from originally, it's very possible they may not have cultivar names so I wouldn't let it bother you too much if you don't get exact ID's on them.
Shari, I don't remember your post about San Bernardino? I'm the one that lives there, so I'm not sure??
I really like your last picture :-)

Karen - that last pic was one I've been playing with for a t-shirt design. Its of the double peach that Liz and I have discussed in the past. My old faithful...gorgeous blooms nearly every day.
My DB bought property in SB after living in Victorville for years....He's a scruffy old biker dude - who likes roses and pretty flowers HaHa! He really likes it there, so my comment wasn't meant to be negative. Not a pit...just catches all that brown cloud.
That would be lovely on a shirt! LMAO - well after living for years in "Victimville", Berdoo is a slight step up, LMAO!!!!! (j/k)
Great pictures. I'm going to have some without names because I made like a bee this year and didn't tag the crosses. I'll be able to tell the mother plant, but that's all. I won't name them, but if they are pretty, I'll sure post them next year.
How exciting! Say, maybe you guys can help me. We get a scale out here that only seems to get on the Hibs, nothing else. I spray with the oil/soap/alcohol spray, then go back a few days later and wipe off the rest with q-tips and alcohol, but it always comes back. Sometimes it seems that the cure is worse than the disease in this case...any suggestions?
