This is Lexy, a 5 yr old Blue and gold macaw. she was handfed but then the owners got busy and well I won't go into details....BUT..I think she was abused some what. Was in a cage just big enough to barely turnaround in, no perch, and covered with a sheet to keep her quiet.She would chew off her wing feathers from no toys to fight the boredom. Well shes at MY house now,She is in a cage big enough to put many birds in. Food is better, and she has toys and attention. She is doing SOOOO much better now (only been 3 weeks) she dosn't chew her wings any more, she doesn't scream much, she talks all the time,now if she would just let me trim her beak and toenails. She loves all kinds of scratching on her head and this morning I got her to lay on her back in my lap.She is gonna be a real sweetie later on down the road.
