A local family's Yorkie mix was dog-napped when the owner tried to help out a stranger. A lady stopped at the house to rest from the heat and made polite conversation with the owner about the pup. The lady of the house went inside for a moment, and when she returned, her pup was gone, as was the sranger. Fortunately, the sherriff's department found the dog at a nearby puppy mill and returned it to the owners. The dog-napper has been arrested. The pup is doing fine, except that it is a little more aggressive since it was dog-napped.
This is not some sort of Internet rumor...the article and photo of the pup were in the Dothan Eagle today. There was no mention in the paper about the status of the puppy mill. Please be mindful of strangers where your pets are concerned.
