Fall pruning in Texas

Austin, TX

I'm just a beginner. Just bought a new house and the beautiful beds have been totally abandoned for several months. Thankfully we've had an abundance of rain. Lots of roses are overgrown and wild looking as is everything else. Is it OK to prune now? I'll go nuts if I can't.

Prune away! If any are in bloom now, you might wait until the flowers fade.

I agree with Bronc. If we have a mild winter you can have rose blooms well into Christmas. But you are not going to hurt them by pruning now.
