did you ever just want to kick yourself?

Frisco, TX(Zone 8a)

I finally got a day off during the week and decided take a day trip to visit some out of town nurseries. As i'm looking around I consider something I hadn't seen before but decide for whatever reason not to get them. Then when I'm 30 miles away i remember a perfect spot for that plant, but can't justify the time or gas to turn around. next time I go I'm sure the plant won't be there...just want to kick myself....anyone else do this too?

All the time. So now I just don't try to resist temptation. Because as sure as you don't buy it, it won't be there when you go back.

Lol....been there done that. Of course lately it hasn't been because of plants I didn't buy...but still. All the more reason to buy, buy, buy! Lol...

What was the plant? Maybe one of us, have it...you never know...

Meadows Place, TX(Zone 9a)

My problem is just the opposite. I go to a nursery.....just to look around....see something neat, ex. Costa Rican Butterfly Vine.....think, "Sooo Cool!".........Think to myself, "Where can I put it?........can not think of a place.......find myself walking out with one.......Dang'it Kip, not again !!!

so many plants...not enough room (yard)

The plant label said it was a dwarf variety of the lantana Irene.Nothing too exotic, but considering the lack of good nurseries in town I shoud have picked it up.Except for the big box stores the two local nuseries seem to be struggling. Their plant selection is limited most of the time.
I'm up early to leave for a short trip to Connecticut. Another disadvantage to a smaller town, having to drive a long time to get to the airport because we can't justify paying extra to fly outa here(even with the extra gas and parking to drive to Houston)But I get some cooler weather for a while!See all of you next week!

Teacup, have you been to Bonnie's in Waco yet? One of the very best places in the world to spend money on really cool plants. Let me know if you go again, maybe we can carpool.

I knew that name sounded familiar. Bonnie's. She has a website showing pics of the plants she sells.
She also has an auction on Ebay. Check on her website for her ebay name.
I've always heard such good things about her nursery.

I am always guilty of seeing plants I really like and not buying them. Then later wishing to heck I had bought them.
I'm gonna stop doing that. LOL

They are so helpful. I went there during the summer and got a little overheated. So they gave me water and went and got the plants that I was looking for and helped me with others for my garden. Very sweet ladies

I've often wondered if the small independent nurseries could accept plants/starts from us individual gardeners. They're welcome to come get a load of passionflower plugs from this place anytime...........

You might email Bonnie and ask. I realize that Waco is a lot further away for you than us, but at least she could answer the question.
